Vusa’s Vision

Our vision is a South Africa where a child’s financial circumstance does not determine access to excellence. A place where all children have access to quality educational, sporting, and cultural opportunities. A society where every child has a safe space to grow, never goes to bed hungry and has access to adults who guide and protect them to become socially aware, financially secure, and active South African citizens.

Vusa’s Mission

Our mission is to offer support and mentorship to children in the Langa community through structured academic, sports, feeding, and extramural programs. We aim to provide them with the skills and opportunities necessary to enhance their lives and futures.

Vusa’s values

  • RELIABILITY

  • SHARED OWNERSHIP

  • KINDNESS

  • TRANSPARENCY

  • PARTNERSHIP

VUSA provides a full bouquet of developmental experiences in the average day of the programme giving children access to extra academics lessons, computer facilities; exposing them to recreational activities, providing them with a hot meal and of course, access to sport (rugby). VUSA also supports 3 registered ECD programmes, developing numeracy and literacy through play as well as through our newest project, the mobile library.

Our VUSA coaches are our greatest asset and our strongest leaders. They provide positive mentorship to our VUSA children. Our coaches and teachers reside in the Langa community.

NOTSHE’s STORY

I grew up in Nyanga township which was the toughest time in my upbringing. Especially as a 13-year-old boy. The environment is consumed by drugs and alcohol and these circumstances make it challenging for one to become a success…
